Our thoughts go out to those lost and suffering in Burma

Our thoughts go out to those lost and suffering in Burma after the cyclone. Their government militia apparently had 48 hours advance warning, but did not tell the civilians. Up to five million people may be affected and over 22,000 have already lost their lives. An initial pledge of £5million has been made by the UK following cylcone Nargis, the largest pledge from the international community so far. The Department For International Developement (DFID) has announced it will be sending an emergency response team to support their team already ongoing with relief efforts inside Burma. Efforts are still being hampered by beaurocracy as the Burmese government is still giving no assurances for access by the international community.
